Some pin designs I did for the world cup last year.
This project was a lot of fun. I had a blank set of 5 nesting dolls to paint on. I decided on doing a fun version of the folk song “There was an old woman who swallowed a fly”. It seemed like a fitting theme for the placing of dolls within each other :) Here are the concepts I decided on before started painting:
1st and smallest - The Fly “I don’t know why she swallowed the fly, I guess she’ll die…”

Next size up - The cat “She swallowed the cat to catch the fly…”

3rd size - The Dog “She swallowed the dog to catch the cat…”

4th size - The Horse “…she died, of course”

Largest size - The Old Lady, poor woman…

And here is how the set turned out. Hand painted on wood with acrylic and high-gloss shalaque. Don’t they all look pissed off and stressed out, Ha!

Some villains I did that are inspired by the upcoming indie game “No Time To Explain”. You should all check out the trailer and support the project here on Kickstarter
This is what a 4” DIY Trikky toy looks like:

I started sketching some ideas for designing this bad boy and came up with these:

Doesn’t quite fit the toy dimensions but look how cute I am in a leopard-print suit! Meeooww.
Is it wrong or egocentric of me to spend time developing a character based on myself? I find it therapeutic actually. This gives me the opportunity to stretch my boundries, put myself in situations that I would otherwise be afraid of doing. Maybe cartoon Michelle is the motivation I need to start taking chances in the real world.
Anyhoo, here are the very first sketches of what is quickly becoming an ongoing study into myself. Sorry to sound so serious <-lot’s of Ssss in that sentence, Hee.
